Blue Dog Mini Lesson

K-6 Art Lesson

50 minutes

K-6 Blue Dog Art Lesson

The end of the year is upon us.  As I struggle to wrap up projects, grade the last minute hand in of final creations and juggle with my classes that have finished everything, I finally decided to create some mini projects to keep my classes busy, still be creative and if possible still learn a thing or two before they head out the door to enjoy summer.

This Mini Blue Dog lesson can be found on my Teacher Pay Teacher Store.  Crazy Busy Art Room Store

It contains the lesson, a grading rubric, a Blue Dog template and some fashion accessories to help design your Blue Dog.  I tried this with my 2nd graders today and they loved it!  So many possibilities!

This would also make a great substitute teacher lesson!

Check out my Crazy Busy Art Room Store, follow it if it floats your boat and THANK YOU for the support!

Haystacks

Monet Haystacks

Fifth Grade Art Lesson

3 Class Periods, 45 minutes

Monet Haystacks, Fifth Grade Art Lesson

My fifth grade artists tackled this lesson on Claude Monet.  We specifically examined several of his haystack paintings as well as learning factual information about the artist.  Did you know that the Monet created 25 paintings of this specific subject matter?

Using a pencil we lightly planned the main objects in the composition and together we used oil pastels to color in the details of the artwork.  We discussed parts of a landscape, texture, color blending and complementary color schemes.

This was my first time teaching this lesson to my students.  After seeing these GLOWING results I will definitely be putting this on my lesson plan agenda for next year!

Mona Lisa Holiday Coloring Sheets

I recently made these fun holiday Mona Lisa coloring sheets for my classroom.  I always begin my school year teaching students about Mona Lisa.  I use "Mona"..."Lisa" as a way to get classroom attention as well having students get ready for dismissal, "Look Mona Lisa Ready."  Knowing how much my students love learning about the Mona Lisa, I thought it would be fun to create some holiday parodies of Mona.  I plan on using these as part of my monthly free choice coloring sheet option for students who finish work early. If you think these would be cool to add to your classroom or you would like to support my Teacher Pay Teacher Store click on this link:  Crazy Busy Art Room Store. Thanks in advance for any support you may give by liking my store, making a purchase or writing a review.  Have a great weekend friends!
