Crazy Busy Art Room Art Prompt 7

Good morning everyone! Today we are going to be creating a sea turtle that has beautiful color wheel decorating his shell.

Supplies Needed: 1 piece of paper, pencil, eraser, RED, BLUE, YELLOW watercolor paints, brushes, white crayon, black marker.
I have attached photos with the directions on each photo, but please read through the directions for further details on instruction.
Step 1: Draw a circle in the center of your paper. This circle should be roughly the size of your fist.
Step 2: Draw a ring around your circle.
Step 3: Draw an "X" within the circle.
Step 4: Add a horizontal line that intersects the "X."
Step 5: Draw a head for your turtle.
Step 6: Add flippers and a tail to your turtle.
Step 7: Use a white crayon to draw waves around your turtle. Press hard with the white crayon. We want to create a RESIST.
Step 8: Paint the PRIMARY COLORS (red, blue, yellow) within the shell of the turtle. Remember to leave a space between each color. *If you don't have paint it is ok to use crayons.
Step 9: Now we want to mix the SECONDARY COLORS.  Between the red and yellow spaces, mix red and yellow paint to make orange. It is ok to mix the paint right on the paper. *If you are using crayon, use a red and yellow crayon, color lightly with red first then color yellow crayon on top of the red layer.
Step 10: Between the red and blue, mix red and blue paint to make violet. *If you are using crayons, do a light layer of blue first than layer it with the red crayon,
Step 11: Between yellow and blue, mix yellow and blue paint to make green. *If you using crayons, do a light layer of blue first than layer it with the yellow crayon.
Step 12: Now mix some more green paint using blue and yellow. You can make different shades of green by adding more or less yellow or blue paint. Paint the rest of your turtle. Of course, green is just a suggestion. If you want to paint your turtle orange or red...go for it!
Step 13: Next paint the background blue. You will see the white crayon will resist the watercolor paint. Allow your picture to dry before moving to the next step.
Step 14: Once your paper is dry, outline your drawing with a black marker.
Step 15: Create a pattern inside each triangle area of the shell. Remember a PATTERN is a design that repeats. BE CREATIVE! I can't wait to see what you come up with!
Step 16: Add small circles in the flippers and head of the turtle to create texture with the body of the turtle.
Have a great day everyone! Remember to post your finished masterpieces in the comments below. It honestly does make my whole day!
