Crazy Busy Art Room Art Prompt 37

We have just 10 more art prompts left for this school year.  This is definitely not how I envisioned my school year coming to a close.

Usually, I am frantically trying to get clay projects glazed and fired in the kiln, wrapping up mask projects, counting out how many days I have left with each class and figuring out which projects we will have time before our last day.

However, the part I am missing most is the growth that I see in each of you.  There is a huge change from that very first day of school to our last day of school.  It doesn't matter the grade, it happens to each of you.  Whether it is physical change such as getting taller or gaining some maturity or if is a change that happened due to learning something new.  Perhaps you finally figured out how to multiply by 9 or you can read a chapter book now, or you just discovered that you have  a true passion for music or art or you realized how important teamwork and sportsmanship is when playing a sport.

As teachers, we see these changes.  It makes us swell with pride knowing that perhaps we had a small part in this growth.  I feel I can safely say, that we are all going to be missing that end of the year wrap up.  Thinking of you all.

Love,

Mrs. Cornell

I have posted photos of the steps, but please read through the directions for further instruction or creative choices.

Supplies Needed:  paper, pencil, eraser, ruler, markers

Step 1:  Draw a large heart on your paper.

Step 2:  Anywhere inside the heart, draw a small dot with your pencil.

Step 3:  Using a ruler, draw a line that starts at the dot and goes off the paper.

Step 4:  Keep adding line like this all around your paper.  You want 12 lines total.

Step 5:  Outline your drawing with a black marker.

Step 6:  Pick 2 warm colors (orange, red, yellow, pink).  Color the hear alternating colors.

Step 7:  Pick 2 cool colors (blue, green, violet).  Color the background alternating the colors.
